On Thursday, 09 November 2023, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis, attended the Strategic Meetings of the Mediterranean Conference in Toulon, France, upon invitation of the Chief of Staff of the French Army, General Pierre Schill.


Within the framework of the conference, the Chief and his French counterpart General Schill participated in a roundtable entitled "South European Terrestrial Convergences”, which included topics on military cooperation, artificial intelligence, as well as exchanging views at the strategic level on the Mediterranean.

Tank Platoon Competition Opening Ceremony

On Saturday, 04 November 2023, a ceremony was held at Camp “KONSTANTINOU TRIANTAFYLLIDI” in Petrohori, Xanthi, for the opening of the Tank Platoon Competition among Armoured Units of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” operating LEO2 (A4 and HEL) tanks, including a USAREUR – AF Tank Platoon operating Μ1Α2 ABRAMS tanks. The activity will be observed by 19 Observers from Armenia, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Cyprus.

Artillery Unit Fire Training (2nd Half of 2023)

From 30 October to 01 November 2023, Artillery Units of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” conducted Fire Training at the Petrota Range in Rodopi for the 2nd half of 2023.


The activity included the implementation of all relevant support fire request, coordination, and execution procedures in order to achieve the greatest synergy possible among those involved in the operations, following the “train as you fight” principle.
