From 29 May to 1 June 2023, in the context of the Military Cooperation of Greece and Estonia, a visit of a delegation of the Armed Forces of Estonia, led by the Chief of Staff of the Estonian Armed Forces Major General Enno Mõts, was conducted.

 

In more detail, on 30 May 2023, the Estonian Delegation visited the Hellenic Army General Staff, where it met with the HAGS Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos. During the meeting, which was conducted in exquisite terms, common interest issues were discussed as well as future cooperation in various fields.

In the context of the Army’s contribution to society and the joint activities with the local communities, a visit of the Down Syndrome Association of Greece was conducted to the Unconventional Warfare Training Centre.

 

The members of the Association were briefed on the work accomplished by the Centre, they were given a tour of its facilities and observed a demonstration of the training subjects.

On Sunday 28 May 2023, the official celebration of the 82nd anniversary of the Battle of Crete took place in Chania, which included an official doxology at the Holy Metropolitan Church of the “Presentation of Virgin Mary” in the morning and the closing event at the Battle of Crete Monument (Chania-Maleme Airport) in the afternoon.

The Army during the first quarter of 2023, in the context of its contribution to society, proceeded to the following actions:

 

- Voluntary blood donation by its personnel. 2439 units of blood were collected.

 

- Conduct of medical echelons visits to villages throughout the territory. 326 inhabitants and school students were examined.
