From 19 June to 7 July 2023 and in the context of the Military Cooperation Programme between Greece and Armenia for the year 2023, the School of Climbing Technique was conducted at the Special Forces Training Centre, with the participation of 33 members, of whom 5 were from the Armed Forces of Armenia.

The training, among others, included the following subjects:

• Subjects of climbing on - rappelling off the tower of climbing technique and in a rocky area.

• Rappelling from helicopters.

• MEDEVAC of injured individual in a mountainous area.

The Armed Forces’ contribution to society, under the planning and instructions of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, is constant, multifaceted and substantial. In this context, the Hellenic Army General Staff contributes to the reinforcement of the work of the National Centre for Emergency Care in the field of air MEDEVACs.

The Army, with its operational flying assets, constitutes a “bridge of life” over the Aegean or wherever required, for air MEDEVACs of patients in need of further hospitalisation at the medical units of the urban centres, so as to receive the required medical care.

From 4 to 5 June 2023, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis conducted a visit to the Area of Responsibility of the 80 Higher National Guard Battalions Command “KOS”.

During his visit, the Chief was briefed on the work and mission of the Formation, he visited Units, military installations and the Surveillance Outposts on the Farmakonisi, Kalolimnos and Pserimos islands, ascertaining the operational readiness and the high level of the personnel’s morale.

From 26 to 30 June 2023, in the context of the Military Cooperation Programme between Greece and the Republic of North Macedonia for the year 2023, a training of 2 Officers and 8 NCOs of the Armed Forces of the Republic of North Macedonia was conducted at the “Colonel (INF) Antonios Kambanis” Camp in Kilkis, on subjects of “Close Protection Team”.

The training included, among others, a briefing on the principles of VIPs escort and practice on the following subjects:

•    On foot escort formations.

•    Guarding of sensitive targets.

•    Portable weaponry fires and Rapid Response Combat Fires.

•    Basic principles of convoys and response of escort team against a threat.

From Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 June 2023, the Students of Class ΙΙΙ of the NCOs Academy, in the context of their training trip, conducted a visit to the Formations, Units and Surveillance Outposts in the Area of Responsibility of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE”.

In particular, on Tuesday 20 June 2023, they initially visited the premises of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE”, where they were received by the Deputy Commander of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE” Major General Dimitrios Petroulias and they were briefed on the work and the mission of the Army Corps.
