On Thursday, 09 November 2023, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis, attended the Strategic Meetings of the Mediterranean Conference in Toulon, France, upon invitation of the Chief of Staff of the French Army, General Pierre Schill.

Within the framework of the conference, the Chief and his French counterpart General Schill participated in a roundtable entitled "South European Terrestrial Convergences”, which included topics on military cooperation, artificial intelligence, as well as exchanging views at the strategic level on the Mediterranean.

During the Conference, the Chief referred to the security challenges in South Europe, the imperative need for cooperation of its countries through joint training activities and combined exercises. He also referred to various areas on which the countries should focus, such as interoperability, environmental security, and crisis management.

On the sidelines of the conference, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff had a bilateral meeting with the Chief of Staff of the French Army, General Pierre Schill. During the meeting, which took place in an excellent atmosphere, the two Chiefs discussed current developments, evaluated agreed activities, and exchanged views on new areas of cooperation.
