Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) Cadet Summer Training

From 24 June to 21 July 2018, the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) cadets conducted summer training in the "KANAPITSA" Proving Ground in Litohoro, aimed at providing them with the skills to survive outdoors, mentally and physically strengthening them, and improving their skills as small echelon leaders. Within the framework of jointness, they were joined for a week by cadets of the Hellenic Naval and Air Force Academies.

The training included individual tactics, fighter techniques, and a Squad-level day and night Field Exercise, while the cadets also trained on urban warfare in the National Urban Warfare Operations Centre of Excellence in Argyroupoli, Kilkis.

On Wednesday, 25 July 2018, a memorial service took place in the 6th Special National Guard Battalion in honour of the fallen Officers and raiders of the 1st Amphibious Raider Battalion during the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, as well as the renaming of the camp to "Taxiarhou Georgiou Papameletiou – Pedopolis 'Theotokos'" Camp, in honour of the Commander of the heroic Battalion during the operations in Cyprus.

Oath-taking Ceremonies of 2018 D Enlistment Series Recruits in the Conscript Reception Centres

On Friday, 27 July 2018, the oath-taking ceremonies of 2018 D Enlistment Series recruits took place in the Army Conscript Training Centres.

The ceremonies took place in the presence of Army delegations, local civilian and religious authorities, as well as friends and family of the recruits.

The soldiers received their travel orders to report to their assigned Units.

We wish them a safe and constructive military service.

Floating Craft Operational Training of D Army Corps Formations

On Thursday, 12 July 2018, within the framework of Formation operational training, the final stage of the following Field Exercises took place in the 2 Floating Craft Training Centres of D Army Corps "THRAKI":

- Night exercise by a Mechanised Infantry Battalion Task Force with personnel and assets from the Units and Independent Subunits of the ΧΧΙΙΙ Armoured Brigade "3o SYNTAGMA IPPIKOU DORYLEO” in the Evros river delta.

- Day exercise by a Mechanised Infantry Company Task Force with personnel and assets from the Units and Independent Subunits of the 50th Mechanised Brigade "APSOS” in the Ardas river.

The activities confirmed the high level of operational readiness of the forces, as well as the excellent organisation and performance of the exercises.
