Visit by the Army Inspector General – 2nd Deputy Chief HAGS to the Area of Responsibility of the 88th Military Command and the 41st Infantry Regiment Tactical Command

On 04 and 05 July 2018, the Army Inspector General – 2nd Deputy Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Nikolaos Manouris, visited the Area of Responsibility of:

- the 88th Military Command "LIMNOS".

- the 41st Infantry Regiment Tactical Command "SARANTA EKKLISIES".

The Deputy Chief visited all their Units and Independent Subunits, as well as the Outpost of Aghios Efstratios.

The visit confirmed the high level of operational readiness and proper condition of assets, as well as the high morale and offensive spirit of the personnel, which constitutes the Army's greatest force multiplier.

Visit by the Command Adjutant of HAGS to the US and to US Army Europe Formations

n July 2018, the Command Adjutant of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Signals Warrant Officer Loukas Tsiamantas, visited:

- the United States on 22 June 2018, where he attended the graduation of the Sergeants Major Course Class 68 of the US Army Sergeants Major Academy, upon invitation by the Academy Commandant, Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Jimmy Sellers.

- Grafenwohr, Germany, from 26 to 28 June 2018, accompanied by the Command Adjutant of the Career NCO School, Infantry Warrant Officer Georgios Papangelis, where they visited Units and Formations of US Army Europe, upon relevant invitation.
 
They discussed matters of mutual interest in order to further upgrade the role of our NCOs.

June 2018 Army Social Contribution in Air Evacuations

During June 2018, in the context of its social contribution, the Army assisted in air evacuation operations, executing 27 missions, day and night, for the air evacuation of 32 patients from islands of the central and south-eastern Aegean Sea to hospitals of urban centres, using helicopters of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade.
The Army Aviation helicopters offer the above social contribution services on a daily basis, not decreasing in the slightest level their engagement in their multiple everyday activities (exercises, troop transportation, surveillance, reconnaissance, etc).

Chief HAGS Visit to Armour School

On Friday 06 July 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis paid a visit to the Armour School at Avlona, Attica, where he delivered a speech to the trainee Armour Second Lieutenants of the Military Academy Classes 2016 and 2017.
In his speech, the Chief made an extensive reference to a sequence of personal experiences and events which he experienced during his career.  The Chief’s aim was for the new Armour Second Lieutenants to draw inspiration, shape perceptions and gain knowledge which will contribute to the beginning of their glorious career in the Army.      
The Armour Second Lieutenants of the Military Academy Class 2016 completed their training at the Armour School and they received a Travel Order for the Armour Units.
We wish to the new Officers, to continue their efforts and succeed in their new duties in the Units they are assigned at.
