Signing of an MoU between HAGS and the HELLENIC POST – Inauguration Ceremony of the Modernized 1020 Army Post Office

On Monday, 10 December 2018, at the Hellenic Army General Staff, at "Papagou" Camp, in the presence of the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, an MoU was signed, between the Army and the Hellenic Post, for the promotion/provision of philatelic products and services to Army personnel, as well as for the issue of special ceremonial and personal stamps. The memorandum was signed by the Director of HAGS/B Staff Directorate, Major General Leonidas Kakavas and the General Director of the Hellenic Post, Mr. Savas Dandolos.

Afterwards, the inauguration ceremony of HAGS 1020 Army Post Office took place; the Office was modernized, with the use of automated electronic post services distribution and management systems.

Farewell of 2018 B Enlistment Series Discharged Soldiers

On Monday, 10 December 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, bid farewell to discharged Soldiers of the 2018 B Enlistment Series, who were transferred from border regions to HAGS.

We thank them for their contribution, performance and efficiency and we wish them health, good luck and success in their civilian life. We wish you keep up feeling proud of the Hellenic Army.

Award of Students Who Have Excelled at School, Coming from Families of the Army’s Military and Civilian Personnel

The award of the students who have excellent at the 2nd and 3rd Classes of Senior High School, during the 2017 – 2018 school year, coming from families of the Army’s active military and civilian personnel, appointed at HMoND, HNDGS and HAGS, took place on Saturday 08 December 2018 at the Armed Forces Officers’ Club.

The award was conducted by the Chief of Staff of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Antonios Nomikos.
The parents of the awarded students attended the ceremony.

We extend our warmest congratulations to the awarded students for their praiseworthy effort and to the proud parents, for their determinative contribution to their children’s excellence.

Award of Army Personnel

A ceremony, in the context of the “We Are Proud” activity, took place on Friday 07 December 2018 at the premises of the Hellenic Army General Staff, where the Chief of HAGS, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis awarded the following NCOs:

- Infantry Staff Sergeant (Professional Soldier) Grigorios Samaras, who helped a citizen evacuate his burning apartment thus rescuing him, on 15 September 2018 in Naousa, with incomparable courage and risking his life, demonstrating the spirit of self-sacrifice and altruism.

- Armour Sergeant (Professional Soldier) Ioannis Hatzimagioglou, who has participated in various body building competitions, from 2012 onwards, achieving significant distinctions.

The deeds of our two NCOs constitute an excellent paradigm to be copied for all of our personnel, while they promote, in the best possible way, the Army and the Armed Forces in general.

Visit of the Army Inspector General – Deputy Chief of HAGS to the Special Forces Training Centre and the 865 Air Supply Battalion

The Army Inspector General – Deputy Chief of HAGS, Lieutenant General Nikolaos Manouris visited the Special Forces Training Centre, at Nea Peramos - Attica and the 865 Air Supply Battalion, at Eleusis – Attica, on Wednesday 05 December 2018.

During the visits, the Army Inspector General – Deputy Chief of HAGS was given a tour of the premises and facilities, he was briefed on their current activities and talked to the personnel about issues of interest.
