Visits by the Chief HAGS to Army Formations and Services in Thessaly for Holiday Wishes

On Monday, 17 December 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, made the following visits to Army Formations and Services in Thessaly:

- To the 32nd Marine Brigade "MORAVAS" in Volos.

- To the 1st Army Aviation Brigade and the 307th Forward Base Plant in Stefanovikio, Magnisia.

- To the 304th Forward Base Plant in the area of Aghios Georgios in Velestino, Magnisia.

- To the 404th Army General Hospital in Larissa.

The Chief addressed the military and civilian personnel, congratulated them for their extremely important work, and exchanged wishes and token gifts on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

The Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff visits the Armour-Cavalry Retired Officers Association

On Friday, 14 December 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis visited the Armour-Cavalry Retired Officers Association in Athens.

During the visit, the Chief discussed issues pertinent to the development and upgrade of the Armour Corps, with members of the Association, and they exchanged wishes, in view of the Christmas and New Year's holidays.

One-day conference held at the Military Academy under the Title "Research and Information Systems Corps: a 20 year Contribution to the Hellenic Army"

On Friday, 14 December 2018, a conference was held in the auditorium of the Hellenic Military Academy, under the title "Research and Information Systems Corps: a 20 year Contribution to the Hellenic Army".

On the occasion of the 20 year term from the establishment of the Research and Information Systems Corps, the respective HAGS/Research and Information Systems Directorate organized the event, in order to present the spectrum of its innovative action. The Research and Information Systems Corps started its operation on the 31st of March 1998, and its mission is to increase the Army's combat power, in peace and war time, through the constant use of command and control systems, the operational research, the IT and the applied technological research.

Three-Day Operational Training in Units of the 1st Raiders-Parachutists Brigade

From 10 until 13 December 2018, in the context of the personnel's operational training and of the units’ operational readiness, a three-day Operational Training was conducted, in "ASKOS-PROFITIS" Firing and Exercise Range, with the participation of personnel and assets from Units of the 1st Raiders-Parachutists Brigade ("EL ALAMEIN").

On Thursday, 13 December 2018, which was the last day of the training activity, a Field Training Exercise under the name "Raider Battalion Attack" was conducted, using live ammunition; in this Exercise, the capabilities of Special Forces troops in the unconventional warfare, as well as their cooperation with the other Arms of the Army, were assessed.

Speech Delivery at HAGS, under the title "The Spices of Life"

On Wednesday, 12 December 2018, a speech was delivered at HAGS Headquarters, at "PAPAGOU" Camp, under the title "The Spices of Life" by Psychiatrist Dimitrios Karagiannis.

D. Karagiannis is the Director of the Child Mental Health Centre, Assistant Professor in Cyprus Frederick University and Scientific Associate of "Antistixi" Institute. He is also a member of the National Public Health Council, responsible for Psychiatry issues, a member of the Board of Directors of the Drug Addiction Treatment Center (KETHEA) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hellenic Association of Systemic and Family Therapy Companies (HELASYTH).
He has published articles in Greek and international scientific journals.
