The Hellenic Army General Staff keeps on planning and implementing actions, aiming at constantly training and informing the personnel about important topics of our time, such as the environmental protection, management and organization.

In this context, on Tuesday, November 13th 2018, a Meeting entitled “Environmental Protection through Energy Management” was organized by the XII Mechanised Infantry Division “EVROS” at the Alexandroupolis Guard Officers’ Club.

Current concerns, technological developments, as well as actions developed by the Division, with regard to the waste management (disposal) at source pilot program, were presented at the Meeting.

On Friday, November 16th 2018, the diploma award ceremony for 16 graduate members of the 104th Raiders’ Course and 9 graduate members of the Army Aviation Escape Evasion Survival Course was held at the headquarters of the Unconventional Warfare Training Centre in Rentina – Thessaloniki.

The Raiders’ Course of 13 weeks in length commenced on August 20th 2018 and provides amongst others training to members of the Special Forces in special forces tactics, mountain battle, unconventional warfare and amphibious operations.

The Army Aviation Escape Evasion Survival Course of 2 weeks in length commenced on November 05th 2018 and provides to trainees – Army Aviation pilots amongst others training in survival and escape.

The diplomas were awarded to graduates by the Commander of the C Army Corps “MEGAS ALEXANDROS”, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bikos.

The Hellenic Army General Staff keeps on planning and implementing actions, aiming at training the personnel, specifically on safety issues.

In this context, on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November 2018, a two-day Workshop dedicated to “Aviation Safety” and “Road Safety” was organized by the 1st Army Aviation Brigade at the Cultural Centre of Nea Ionia in Volos. The Workshop was attended by military and civilian personnel, citizens, as well as senior high school students.

During the Workshop, speakers from the Armed Forces, the Security Forces, the University of Thessaly, the Civil Aviation Authority, as well as private entities and other authorities, developed subjects on the encouragement of a high-level safety culture and safety awareness, as well as on the prevention of aviation and road accidents, both at theoretical and experiential level.
