On 11 and 12 April 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Area of Responsibility of the 9th Motorised Infantry Brigade "ANDRIANOUPOLI", accompanied by the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR, Lieutenant General Konstantinos Koutras.

During his visit, the Chief was briefed on the current activities of the Formation and its Groups, visited Camps, Units, and all Outposts in the broader area, provided guidelines, and addressed the Units' personnel.

On Thursday, 4 April 2019, a ceremony was held at the Military Airfield in Alexandria, Imathia, for the graduation of and award of pilot degrees to 7 Hellenic Army and 10 Hellenic Air Force helicopter pilots who successfully completed the Joint Helicopter Pilot Basic Training Course.

The training included theoretical subjects and flight training, while at the same time it contributed to the interoperability between the Services, achieving savings for the Armed Forces in terms of personnel, assets, and resources.

The degrees were awarded to the graduates by the Director of the Army Aviation Directorate of the Hellenic Army General Staff, while the ceremony was attended by representatives of the political, religious and local authorities, active duty and retired Officers, as well as family and friends of the new pilots.

We wish the new pilots safe flights.

On Sunday, 7 April 2019, the 78th anniversary of the Battle of the Forts of 6-9 April 1941 was celebrated in Forts "ROUPEL", "OHYRO (ISTIBEI), "NYMFEA", "EHINOS", and "LISSE". The events included a memorial service and wreath laying in memory of all Hellenic Army Officers and Soldiers who defended the forts during the battle of April 1941.

The ceremony in Fort "ROUPEL" was attended by the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, representatives of the political and religious authorities, active duty and retired Officers of the Armed Forces, and crowds of people, who had the opportunity to visit the Fort Museum and areas.

On Thursday, 04 April 2019, a presentation of the two-volume project of HAGS/D4 (Army History Directorate) "The Hellenic Army during WWI" took place at the Athens Armed Forces Officers' Club.

The event was attended by active duty and retired Officers from all three services of the Armed Forces, academics, historians, the President and members of the Lykeion ton Hellenidon, Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) cadets, and a large audience.

On Thursday, 4 April 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) in Vari, Attica.

During his visit, the Chief addressed the cadets and the Academy's personnel, providing guidelines to the Officers and presenting his vision to the young cadets.
