The ceremony of certificates award to the Cadets of the Hellenic Army Academy - Class 2023 was conducted on Tuesday 20 June 2023, at the Hellenic Army Academy in Vari-Attica.

The certificates were awarded to the Cadets by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis and subsequently the Academy’s emblem was awarded to the foreign graduating Cadets. After the conclusion of the ceremony, the Chief of HAGS gave his guidelines for their career as they move forward.

Finally, the Spanish Defence Attaché Captain Federico Antonio Garcia Castro presented the top Cadet of Class 2023 with the dagger of the Spanish Army.

From 29 May to 16 June 2023, the summer training – survival of the Students of the NCOs Academy took place in the area of Kanapitsa-Litochoro.

Furthermore, the students of Class ΙΙ conducted training at the Unconventional Warfare Training Centre in Redina-Thessaloniki and at the Special Forces Training Centre where the TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) school was conducted.

The training schedule included subjects of operational and special training, with the assistance of floating, mechanised and airborne assets.

From 12 to 16 June 2023, the Field Training Exercise “DIMOKRITOS 2023” was conducted in the area of Xanthi, aiming to implement in practice the acquired knowledge of the new 2nd Lieutenants from all Arms and Corps of the 2022 Class, on subjects of defensive and offensive operations and Logistics under realistic conditions. Detachments and assets of the ΧΧΙ Armour Brigade “PINDOS”, the ΧΧV Armour Brigade “2nd CAVALRY REGIMENT – EFESOS”, the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS-LACHANAS”, the 29 Motorised Infantry Brigade “POGRADEC”, the IV Support Brigade “ANTIPATROS” and the Engineer Command of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE” participated in the Field Training Exercise.

From Monday 12 to Friday 16 June 2023, the Hellenic Army War College hosted a seminar on “Modern Leadership in the Context of Law of Armed Conflicts and Open Source Intelligence”, under the aegis of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC) and in cooperation with the Cyprus Security and Defence Academy.

The seminar was observed by a total of 25 participants, senior Officers of the Armed Forces and Academics. In particular, 14 were from Greece, 5 were from Cyprus, 3 were from Romania, 2 were from France and 1 was from Belgium.

The General Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Thessaloniki Mr Konstantinos Polykarpou, the Director of the Cyprus Security and Defence Academy Lieutenant Colonel (ret) Symeon Zambas and the representative (training manager) of the European Security and Defence College Mr Christoforos Christoforou attended the commencement of the sessions.

On 15 and 16 June 2023, the oath-taking ceremonies of the New Conscript Soldiers of the 2023 C΄ Training Series were conducted.

The ceremonies took place in the presence of the religious and self-government authorities as well as relatives of the soldiers.
