From 12 to 16 June 2023, the Field Training Exercise “DIMOKRITOS 2023” was conducted in the area of Xanthi, aiming to implement in practice the acquired knowledge of the new 2nd Lieutenants from all Arms and Corps of the 2022 Class, on subjects of defensive and offensive operations and Logistics under realistic conditions. Detachments and assets of the ΧΧΙ Armour Brigade “PINDOS”, the ΧΧV Armour Brigade “2nd CAVALRY REGIMENT – EFESOS”, the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS-LACHANAS”, the 29 Motorised Infantry Brigade “POGRADEC”, the IV Support Brigade “ANTIPATROS” and the Engineer Command of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE” participated in the Field Training Exercise.

During the Field Training Exercise “DIMOKRITOS”, the 2nd Lieutenants were trained on the field on subjects of fires, offensive and defensive operations and Logistics issues. Furthermore, they observed the Field Training Exercise “The Tactical Group of the Medium Tank Battalion during the execution of flank counterattack in the space of engagement, in the context of active defence”, the heavy technical material collection process, as well as the demonstration of water obstacles crossing.

Finally, the final stage of the exercise took place on Thursday 15 June 2023, at the Petrochori Firing Range – Exercise Field, with the conduct of the Field Training Exercise “SIMA Counterattack” with live fires, with the participation of the trained 2nd Lieutenants and observed by the Army Inspector General – Commander of Doctrine and Training Lieutenant General Anastasios Spanos and the Commander of the D΄ Army Corps “THRACE” Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos.
