The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff visits the Athens Military Pharmacy

On Monday, 21 May 2018, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the Athens Military Pharmacy main facilities, located at the courtyard of the Army Share Fund Hospital.

The Chief was informed on the Pharmacy’s organization, mission, operation and current activities. Afterwards, he visited the Pharmacy’s facilities and talked with the personnel in their working area.

The Pharmacy’s excellent operation, the high level of the personnel’s competence, the special zeal and the unparalleled interest in the performance of their duties were confirmed.

Cooperation Memorandum Signed Between HAGS and AKOS Company

HAGS, being guided by an anthropocentric orientation, recognizes manpower as the most important Army force multiplier.

In this context, on Monday 21 May 2018, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between the Hellenic Army General Staff and AKOS Non Profiteering Company, initiating a series of actions, such as:

The organisation of scientific conferences and social events to raise personnel’s awareness.

Providing information regarding cancer prevention.

The joint cooperation with HAGS regarding researches, as far as public health matters are concerned.

During 2018, which has been declared as year of  personnel welfare, our efforts will continue unabated, regarding the improvement of our manpower’s everyday life.

C Army Corps ‘MEGAS ALEXANDROS’ Extroversion Actions

From  Monday, 14 May, to Tuesday, 17 May 2018, a number of social contribution actions were implemented, throughout the Area of Responsibility of  C Army Corps, as follows:

  • Provision of medical personnel in remote villages.
  • Distribution of presents in remote schools.
  • Military band performances.
  • Food distribution to poor families.
  • Maintenance of monuments.
  • Contribution with Engineers machinery.

During the aforementioned  actions of local population support, tokens of affection and favourable remarks were expressed for our personnel, as recognition of the Army’s contribution to society in peacetime.

Honourary Detachment and Military Band echelon attend celebrations on the occasion of the Day commemorating the Genocide of Pontian Greeks at the White Tower, Thessaloniki.

The 19th of May has been declared as Commemoration Day for the Genocide of Pontian Greeks, following a unanimous resolution of the Hellenic Parliament on the 24th of February 1994. In this context, on Saturday 19 May 2018, an official Flag Lowering was held at the White Tower of Thessaloniki, attended by 40 Pontians wearing the Zipka War Outfit, following the approval by HAGS of a request submitted by the Pan-Hellenic Pontian Associations’ Federation.

During the Flag Lowering, a military echelon rendered honours, and so did a C Army Corps- “MEGAS ALEXANDROS”  Military Band.

Army Inspector General – HAGS Deputy Chief visits D Army Corps D-“THRACE” AoR

During May 15 and 16 2018,  Army Inspector General – HAGS Deputy Chief Lieutenant General  Nikolaos Manouris visited D Army Corps- “THRACE” AoR. More specifically he visited the Units and Groups of  ΧΧΙ – XIV Armoured Brigades (ΧΧΙ “ARMOURED BRIGADE-PINDOS”),  ΧΧΙ ARMOURED BRIGADE - 2nd CAVALRY REGIMENT-EFESSOS  and the 29th Motorised Infantry Brigade  “POGRADEC”.

The Army Inspector General - HAGS Deputy Chief confirmed the high operational readiness, the operability of assets, the extremely high level of morale and the spirit of aggression governing the personnel – the most important Army force-multiplier .
