On Thursday, 07 June 2018, the celebration on the completion of the 190 years from the Establishment of the 1st Gunners Battalion and the Graduation Ceremony of the Basic Training Detachment of Second Lieutenants (Artillery), Class 2017 of the Military Academy were conducted. 

The following took place during the event:
-   Weapon systems demonstration and briefing on the History of the School as well as on the Arm of the Artillery, at the Artillery School amphitheater.

-  Honorary distinctions award to Artillery personnel for their contribution on the development of the Arm, by the Honorary Chief HAGS, General (retired) Konstantinos Ginis and retired Artillery officers who attended the event.

Contest and Award of the Environmental Sensitivity “ECOPOLIS 2018” Prizes

On Saturday, 02 June 2018, in the context of extroversion and innovation of the Army, the 691st Base Industrial Plant (691 BIP), in cooperation with the Technology and Research Institution (TRI), participated in the Environmental Sensitivity Contest “ECOPOLIS 2018”.  The 691 BIP and the TRI received the 1st Prize for the project “Sanitation of Interior Spaces by Use of Innovative Coating”.

The ECOCITY is a Voluntary Organisation on Urban and Suburban Environment. It organizes the Environmental Sensitivity “ECOPOLIS” prizes, since 2005. The aim of these prizes is to recognize and reward the environmental sensitivity and contribution of Scientists, Organisations, Local Administration Agencies, Enterprises and Mass Media.

The Commander of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Nikolaos Manolakos, paid a visit on 5 and 6 June 2018, to the Area of Responsibility of the 88th Military Command “LIMNOS”, of the 5th Infantry Brigade “V DIVISION OF CRETANS” as well as of the Tactical Command of the 41st Infantry Regiment “SARANTA EKKLISIES”.  

The perfect organization, and the high level of training and operational readiness, as well as the superb moral and the optimism shown by the entire personnel in the conduct of their mission, were confirmed.
