Postgraduate Degree Award Ceremony from the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) and the Technical University of Crete

On Friday, 22 February 2019, a ceremony was held at the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) for the award of postgraduate degrees to graduates of the 2nd Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Programme of the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) and the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete.
The postgraduate programmes were offered jointly by the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) and the Technical University of Crete. Nineteen postgraduate degrees were awarded in the fields of "Systems Engineering" and "Applied Operational Research and Analysis". Lectures were held at the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) and graduates included 6 Army Officers.
These postgraduate programmes are the result of efforts to boost research activity, are related to the fields of military science and technology, and are closely connected to the needs of the Armed Forces.

Artillery Fire Training by Artillery 2nd Lieutenants, Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) Class of 2018, in the Dendrohori Range

Artillery fire training was conducted from Monday, 11 February, to Friday, 15 February 2019 in the Dendrohori Range by the Basic Training Course for 2nd Lieutenants, Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) Class of 2018.

The Artillery School trainees implemented advanced firing procedures and familiarised themselves with the operational fire assets they will serve in Field Artillery Units after the completion of their training.

Visit by the Chief HAGS to the Area of Responsibility of the 79th Higher National Guard Battalions Command

On Thursday, 21 February 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Area of Responsibility of the 79th Higher National Guard Battalions Command and in particular the Formation Headquarters, where he was briefed on its mission and activities.

He then visited Camps on the island where he addressed the Units' personnel and inspected the readiness troops.

Among others, he laid emphasis on the realistic training of readiness troops, on constant testing with scenarios corresponding to real situations, on justice in command, as well as on constant assistance to local communities.

On Thursday, 21 February 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the Area of Responsibility of the 79th Higher National Guard Battalions Command, where he attended the oath-taking ceremony of 2019 A Enlistment Series Newly Recruited Soldiers in "TAGMATARHI (PZ) EMILIOU POULMAN" Camp.

The ceremony was also attended by the local civilian and religious authorities, as well as by family and friends of the Soldiers.

On Monday, 18 February, and Wednesday, 20 February 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, had formal meetings at his office with the following foreign Defence Attachés in Greece:

- Egyptian Defence Attaché, Captain Hany Khalil.
- Italian Defence Attaché, Colonel Enrico Frasson.
- Bulgarian Defence Attaché, Colonel Venelin Lyubomirov Venev.
- Romanian Defence Attaché, Colonel Dumitru Aurel Draghici.

During the visits, they discussed matters of mutual interest.
