The establishment of the Strategic Transport Group was decided in April 2005 and administratively it came under the Support Division. The aforementioned Group consists of Units and Independent Sub-Units of the Transport Supply Corps and its mission is the transport of:

- Category “A” Vehicles (tanks, armoured vehicles, weapon systems and other tracked vehicles)

- Material and Personnel, with general purpose vehicles. It has the ability to perform Strategic Transports both in Greece and abroad, and at the same time, to undertake multiple transport missions.
