Training Using the Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS)

The Hellenic Army General Staff, with the objective of providing realistic training to Army personnel, conducts double action Field Exercises in order to improve the combat effectiveness of Unit and Independent Subunit personnel. In double action Field Exercises, the training personnel trains against a real and active enemy instead of simply against targets. This training is supported by the use of the Tactical Engagement Simulation System (TESS).

The TESS is an important tool that bridges theoretical simulation training with actual operations, while personnel training is upgraded by providing realism to multiple procedures at the tactical level and the use of operational scenarios.

The use of the system enables trainees to execute all tactical engagement procedures, without the use of fire, as well as a review of all trainee actions at the end of the training.
