The training activity “Armour Colonel Andreas Simos” took place on Tuesday 05 June 2018 at the Armour Training Centre in Avlona – Attica. The method of a battlefield’s Dynamic Representation was used by the Armour 2nd Lieutenants of the 2017 Class of the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon), in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis.

The operational testing with the method of Dynamic Representation of a modern battlefield constitutes an innovation in the training of the new Officers of the Army. It bears the name of a deceased Commander of the Armour School, Armour Colonel Andreas Simos, who laid the foundations for the realisation of this activity, as an honour, wishing to stress initiative, innovation and open-mindedness, all of which are characteristics of the activity.

After the end of the training, the Chief congratulated the Cavalry – Armour Directorate and the Armour School, for the excellent organisation of the conducted training, which was observed by the Directors of Staff Directorates and HAGS Directorates, along with representatives of all the Formations of the Army.

During his speech, he stressed among other things:
- The importance of harmonic coexistence between numerous factors and parameters in operations planning and conduct, in order to achieve the desired result.
- The importance of continuous testing and practice, before the application of any operation plan.
- Target setting in all levels, aiming to continuously improve the new Officers.
