The Special Mission Sniper Basic Training Course's objective is to train Special Mission Snipers on specialised firing techniques in order to enable them to engage specialised targets from great range and under conditions that would make success impossible for any other shooter.

More specifically, the Course took place from 28 August to 13 October 2023 at the Unconventional Warfare Training Centre in Camp “GEORGIOU KATSANI” in Rentina, Thessaloniki, with 10 participants, of which 2 from Cyprus and 2 from Serbia.

During its 7 weeks, the personnel trained on individual tactics, cover, concealment, and camouflage tasks. Furthermore, they were taught target approach procedures and the effects of weather conditions on the success of their mission. Training included practice with fire training against fixed and mobile targets, day and night, and was completed with the evaluation of the participants.
