The Hellenic Army General Staff recognised "veteran" National Guardsmen and Reservists, as well as their employers, within the framework of the Ministry of National Defence declared Personnel Welfare Year.

In particular, the following were recognised:
- 57 National Guardsmen who, with their ethos and actions became role models for the younger.
- 23 companies and employers who facilitate Reservists (Officers and Soldiers) and National Guardsmen working for them to participate in Army training activities.
- 8 Greek Cypriot National Guardsmen from the 41st National Guard Battalion of Nicosia, who participated in training activities of Field Exercise "PARMENION".

The delegation of Greek Cypriot National Guardsmen, accompanied by the Director of the National Guard Directorate of the Cypriot National Guard General Staff, also participated in a ceremony for the twinning of the 41st National Guard Battalion of Nicosia and the National Guard Battalion of Alexandroupoli.

The recognition ceremonies took place on the last day of Field Exercise "PARMENION", which has been declared as "Reservist – National Guardsman Day"

The Active Army, Reserve and National Guard continue to secure our territorial integrity.
