A Helicopters Company Group of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, composed of 4 AH-64 A-DHA (Apache) attack helicopters, 2 CH-47D CHINOOK helicopters, 1 Medical team of the Airport Support Battalion and 1 Communications team of the Signals Company participated in the following joint training activities:

-    From October 23rd to October 25th 2018, in “WHITE AND BLUE GLORY” Field Exercise in Israel;

The said Field Exercise took place within the framework of the Defence Cooperation Programme between Greece and Israel. In carrying out its realistic scenarios, the crews were jointly trained in Search and Rescue missions and in missions in a high antiaircraft threat environment.

-    On October 26th 2018, in a joint training exercise, between ground and air assets in the Range in Kalo Chorio – Cyprus. The exercise was held within the framework of the military cooperation between Greece and Cyprus. The exercise, in which Helicopters, Armored Formations and Special Operations Troops of the National Guard participated, included a combination of tactical movements in the ground and air operational environment.

The personnel of the 1st Army Aviation Brigade, both during its participation in the “WHITE AND BLUE GLORY” Field Exercise and its joint training with National Guard troops, received very complimentary remarks for its high level of professionalism. At the same time, it gained valuable experience through its cooperation with the personnel of the Armed Forces of Israel and the Cypriot National Guard.
