On Monday, 22 January 2024, in the presence of the Minister of National Defence, Mr. Nikos Dendias, the Hellenic First Army/EU-ΟHQ "ACHILLEAS” Change of Command ceremony took place at Camp “STRATIGOU NIKOLAOU PLASTIRA” in Larissa, with Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos assuming command from Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, Members of Parliament, the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, the Head of the Region of Thessaly, Mr. Dimitrios Kouretas, the Mayor of Larissa, Mr. Athanasios Mamakos, the Metropolitan of Larissa and Tyrnavos, Mr. Ieronymos, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Chief of Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios – Eleftherios Kataras HN, the Chief of Hellenic Air Force General Staff, Lieutenant General (HAF) Dimosthenis Grigoriadis, Honorary Chiefs of Cypriot National Guard General Staff, the Commanding General of D Army Corps “THRAKI”, Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS”, Lieutenant General Athanasios Garinis, active duty and retired Officers, and other guests.
