On Thursday 06 June, the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Giannis Kefalogiannis and the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, attended the Distinguished Visitors Day of FTX “DIMOKRITOS 2024”, which took place in the Petrohori Proving Ground - Range.

FTX “DIMOKRITOS” is the capstone of the Basic Training of Second Lieutenants and Career Sergeants regarding their technique and tactics and aims at putting their knowledge in subjects of defence and offensive operations, as well as logistics, in practice under realistic conditions. The exercise constitutes a unique opportunity for the co-training among all Second Lieutenants, regarding their duties in the exercise field.

The final phase of the exercise was observed by the Commanding General of the Hellenic First Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS”, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos, the Army Inspector General , Lieutenant General Spyridon Alfandakis, the Commanding General of D Army Corps “THRAKI”, Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, the Commanding General of the High Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, the Commanding General of the Hellenic Army Support Command “THISEAS”, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bolomytis, the Commanding General of the Special Warfare Command, Lieutenant General Prokopios Mavraganis, the Commanding General of C Army Corps/NRDC-GR “MEGAS ALEXANDROS”, Lieutenant General Athanasios Garinis, as well as Directors of Arms and Corps Directorates of the Hellenic Army General Staff, the Second Lieutenants of which participated in the FTX.

After the exercise, the Chief made a brief address for the participating Second Lieutenants and Sergeants, pointing out the significance of the development of a spirit of cooperation, the shaping of common experiences, and the implementation of knowledge regarding technical and tactical skills in practice. Finally, he conveyed an address and advice of the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis.
