On 01 January, 1980, the Hellenic Army General Staff decided to reorganize and rename the then Advanced Base Veterinary Centre. Thus, it created the current Veterinary Training and Treatment Centre under the command of the Service Support Division.

The Centre fulfils a multilevel and multidimensional mission, executed by:

- the Military Working Dogs Breeding and Treatment Directorate which is responsible for the breeding, reproduction, training and selection of military dogs, as well as for the secondary treatment of military dogs in Units included in  the Area of Responsibility of the Service Support Division.

- the Laboratories Directorate whose specialised personnel performs analyses on Food products and Water to be consumed in the Armed Forces.

Since 2005, the Museum of the Military Veterinary Service has been operating at the premises of the Army Veterinary Training and Treatment Centre. The exhibits of the Museum include equipment and materiel which were used by the Veterinary Corps in the past, and it contributes to the preservation of Army’s history and tradition.

Below is a short video featuring the work, infrastructure and activities of the Army Veterinary Training and Treatment Centre.
