On Sunday, 11 September 2022, a day event was held at the Nestoridio Hall of the Modern Greek Art Museum in Rhodes on the subject “The National Guard: A Pillar of Pride – Deterrence – Outreach – Innovation – Contribution Bound to Emerge Victorious in the Modern Operational Environment”, within the framework of the special cooperation and in order to strengthen the bonds between National Guard Units of Greece and Cyprus.

Addresses were given by the Commanding General of the 95th Higher National Guard Battalions Command “DIAGORIDON”, Major General Dimitrios Vakentis, His Grace, the Bishop of Olympos, Mr. Kyrillos, as representative of the Metropolitan of Rhodes, and the Director of the National Guard Division of HAGS, Brigadier General Sarantis Statharakos.

Lectures were given by the Professor of Economic Geography and Geopolitical Theory of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Mr. Ioannis Mazis, the Associate Professor of Political Economy and International Relations of the Department of Mediterranean Studies of the University of the Aegean, Mr. Georgios Maris, as well as Commanders and Reserve Officers of National Guard Battalions from Greece and Cyprus.

The event was concluded with a summary of works by the Commanding General of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Dimitrios Houpis.
