On Friday 07June 2024, at the Floating Assets Training Centre in the Evros Prefecture, the “RIVER ROUTE” Field Training Exercise was conducted, with the participation of personnel and assets of the 31 Mechanised Brigade “ΚΑΜΙΑ”, the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS - LACHANAS”, the 730 Bridge-building Engineers Battalion and the 744 Bridge-building Engineers Company.

The exercise’s objective was the personnel’s realistic training on subjects of floating of crawler and wheeled vehicles, as well as on the technique of water obstacle crossing, under the conditions of a modern operations environment.

The final stage of the exercise was observed by the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the Commander of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “ACHILLEAS” Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos, the Commander of the D’ Army Corps “THRACE” Stavros Papastathopoulos, the Commander of the Higher Army Support Military Command “THISEAS” Lieutenant General Dimitrios Bolomytis and Observers from Egypt, Armenia, Bulgaria, the USA, Italy and Cyprus.
