On Tuesday 25 April 2023, in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Angelos Choudeloudis and as the representative of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Konstantinos Floros, the proclamation ceremony to honorary Professor of the Hellenic Army Academy of the honorary Chief of HNDGS and Regular Member of the Academy of Athens General (ret.) Dimitrios Skarvelis was conducted at the Hellenic Army Academy in Vari - Attica, honouring him for his professional and scientific course and his contribution to the field of Military Sciences.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Vari, Voula and Vouliagmeni Mr Grigorios Konstantellos, the Archimandrite Christodoulos Samaras as representative of the Metropolitan Bishop of Glyfada, Elliniko, Voula, Vouliagmeni and Vari, the President of the Academy of Athens Mr Michail - Konstantinos Stathopoulos, members of the Supreme Military Council, the Commander of the Hellenic Air Force Academy Major General Konstantinos Karamesinis as representative of the Chief of HAFGS, the Commander of the Hellenic Naval Academy Rear Admiral Christos Sasiakos as representative of the Chief of HNGS, the Commander of the Hellenic Army Academy Major General Anastasios Polychronos, the Honorary Chief of HNDGS General (ret.) Manousos Paragioudakis, the Honorary Chiefs of HAGS General (ret.) Konstantinos Ginis and General (ret.) Charalambos Lalousis, former Academy Commanders, the honorary professor of the Hellenic Army Academy, founder and general scientific director of the Centre for Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning Dr Aristidis Giapalis, the Dean of the Hellenic Army Academy and professor Mr Georgios Kaimakamis, members of the Academy of Athens, academic personnel of the Hellenic Army Academy, active Officers, the daughter of the Honorary Chief of HNDGS and Regular Member of the Academy of Athens General (ret.) Dimitrios Skarvelis Ms Eucharis Skarveli, the granddaughter of the hero Pavlos Melas Ms Natalia Ioannidou, as well as students from Military Schools.
