On Tuesday 11 July 2023, the great festive vespers for the celebration of the memory of Saint Paisios of Mount Athos, patron of the Signals Corps was conducted in the premises of the Signals School at the “KARAISKAKIS A’” Camp in Chaidari-Attica.

The ceremony was honoured by the presence of the Mayor of Chaidari Mr Vangelis Ntiniakos, the Metropolitan Bishop of Thiva, Livadia and Avlida Mr Georgios who officiated the ceremony, the Commander of the Higher Military Command of Army Support “THISEAS” Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis as representative of the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis, the Commander of the Special Warfare Command of HNDGS Lieutenant General Dimitrios Choupis, the HAGS CoS Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, the District Attorney of the Court of Revision Revisionist Α΄ Charalambos Karypidis, the Honorary Chiefs of HAGS General (ret) Konstantinos Ziazias, General (ret) Konstantinos Ginis, representatives of the local self-government as well as active and retired Officers.

After the end of the ceremony, a demonstration of Signals assets and systems was conducted and afterwards the Director of Signals – Research and Information Systems of HAGS, Major General Georgios Gizanis honoured the most senior living Officer of the Signals Corps, Lieutenant General (ret) Georgios Polymeropoulos, of the Hellenic Army Academy’s Class 1949.
