On Sunday 23 April 2023, in the presence of the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Chardalias, as representative of the Government's President, the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff General Konstantinos Floros and the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis, the celebration ceremony for the Great Martyr Saint Georgios, Patron of the Army was conducted at the premises of the Infantry School at the “Major (INF) Velissarios Ioannis” Camp, in Chalkida.

Other attendants to the event were the Deputy Minister Responsible for Fisheries Policy Mr Symeon Kedikoglou, the Metropolitan Bishop of Chalkida Mr Chrysostomos, who officiated the ceremony, the Honorary Chief of HAGS General (ret.) Georgios Kambas, as representative of the Chief of Major Opposition, representatives of Parliamentary Parties, the Chief of the Hellenic Air Force General Staff Lieutenant General Themistoklis Bourolias, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Ioannis Drymousis, the Chief of Port Authority - Hellenic Coastguard Vice Admiral Georgios Alexandrakis, members of the Supreme Military Council, the Head of Staff of the Hellenic Police HQ Lieutenant General Eleftherios Garilas as representative of the Chief of the Hellenic Police, the Deputy Chief of the Fire Service Lieutenant General Marios Apostolidis as representative of the Chief of the Fire Service, the President of the Court of Revision Reviser A’ Mr Theodoros Papakostas, the Regional Vice Governor of Evia Mr Georgios Kelaiditis, the Honorary Chief of HAGS General (ret.) Konstantinos Ginis, Defence Attachés as well as active and retired Officers.

After the end of the ceremony, a demonstration of weapon systems and assets was conducted, where, among others, the Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) Marder 1A3, Simulation Board Stations of the tracked vehicle Μ901 ITV and the LEOPARD 1Α5 tank along with a Virtual Reality system for various helicopter types of the Army Aviation were presented. Furthermore, a tour of the exhibition of the anniversary uniforms was given and wishes were exchanged through teleconference with the personnel of Surveillance Outposts per territory.
