The Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis attended the ceremony for the commissioning of the Reserve Officer Cadets of the 2018 D΄ Training Series, which took place at the premises of the Infantry Reserve Officers School, on Friday 30 November 2018, in Heraklion - Crete.

The Chief said the following during his address:
- He encouraged the commissioned Reserve Officer Cadets, who enter the Army’s family with their new capacity, to rise to the occasion and execute their essential duties which will be assigned by the Units where they are going to be appointed.
- He thanked and congratulated the parents for the stout young men who they entrusted to our Homeland.
- He congratulated the participants for their high morale and the ceremony’s excellent organisation.

His Beatitude the Archbishop of Crete Irineos, the Director of HAGS / Infantry Directorate Major General Georgios Liakos, delegations of the Prefecture’s political and local authorities, delegations of the Armed and Security Forces, relatives and friends of the commissioned Reserve Officer Cadets, as well as numerous other people also attended the event.
