The Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon), within the framework of its mission to produce combat leaders, implements, according to the Leadership's guidelines, an upgraded and dynamic military training programme taking place throughout the year, together with the academic training, which culminates with the summer applied military training in the area of Litohoro.

Within this framework, a particularly demanding operational and training evaluation process was implemented for the first time this year for all cadets of all classes, according to their organic organisation. Its planning was based on the evaluation of the decision making of a single small echelon (Squad – Platoon) combat leader, acting in changing terrain under difficult weather conditions with high temperatures, fatigue, and time pressure.

The evaluation is 72 hours of constant exercise – training (three full days and nights), taking place in an approximately 30 km2 area, and includes testing of day and night operational tasks, such as obstacle course, physical testing, combat swimming, rowing – water obstacle crossing, first aid, CQB, defensive organisation, etc. Within these 72 hours, each platoon will march approximately 100 km, with approximately 4 hours of night rest per day.

This process aims at fostering leadership skills and achieving esprit de corps, contributing to the Hellenic Military Academy's constant efforts for high level processes for the evaluation and certification of the quality of military training, according to the Leadership's relevant guidelines.
