On Thursday, April 12, 2018 the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the National Defence College and delivered a lecture to its students, having as a topic the  ‘’Challenges, Perspectives and Strategic Goals of the Army’’.

The Chief in his lecture highlighted among other things:

    • The dimension of the Jointness in the Armed Forces, as well as the role of the ground factor in this context.

    • The necessity to exceed the old ideas, with new innovative ideas and actions shaping the future of the Army.

    • The significance of consistency between words and actions as well as of the personal example, as a basic leadership principle at all command echelons.

    • The main activities of the Army, in the fields of deterrence, personnel care, social contribution and innovation – transformation.

    • The goals that the Army will be called to achieve as well as the challenges it will be called to face in the future.
Concluding his lecture the Chief replied to the questions of the students.
