On Saturday 27 July 2024, a memorial service took place at the base of the Artillery School in Nea Peramos, in memory of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis, the Commander of the 181st Field Artillery Squadron, who fell heroically on 23 July 1974, north of Synhari village in Cyprus.

The ceremony was attended by the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, the former Minister of National Defence and Honorary Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, General (ret.) Alkiviadis Stefanis, the Mayor of Kallithea Mr. Konstantinos Askounis, the Mayor of Moschato – Tavros Mr. Andreas G. Efthimiou, the Director of the Hellenic Army General Staff Artillery Directorate, Major General Ioannis Moustakis, Officers of the Army, family members of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis, as well as other guests.
