Tank Platoon Competition Distinguished Visitors Day (DV Day)

riday, 10 November 2023, was DV Day at the Tank Range in Petrohori, Xanthi, of the Tank Platoon Competition among Armoured Units of D Army Corps “THRAKI” operating LEO2 (A4 and HEL) tanks, including a Tank Platoon of the USAREUR – AF 1-6 Infantry Regiment operating Μ1Α2 ABRAMS tanks.

The Tank Platoons were evaluated on operational procedures with measurable objective criteria, focusing, among others, on small echelon tactics, firing technique, and tank-related technical matters.

The final phase of the competition was attended by the Commanding General of D Army Corps “THRAKI”, Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos, as representative of the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Angelos Choudeloudis, Col Michael T. Tobias and Col Dwight D. Domengeaux, US Armed Forces, Col Phelipe Le Duc, French Armed Forces, 19 observers from Armenia, Bulgaria, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, Jordan, Italy, Cyprus, and Saudi Arabia, active duty and retired Army Officers and Security Forces officers.
