On Sunday, 26 July 2026, in the presence of the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, as representative of the Chief of Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Choupis, a memorial service was held at the Artillery School in Nea Peramos in memory of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis, who was killed in action on 23 July 1974 while fighting heroically as Commander of the 181^st Field Artillery Battalion north of the village of Synchari, Cyprus.

The ceremony was also attended by MP for the Second Piraeus Constituency, Ms. Irini (Nina) Kasimati, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Kyprianos Tsevas as representative of the Metropolitan of Megara and Salamis Konstantinos, the Director of the Hellenic Army General Staff Artillery Directorate, Brigadier General Dimitrios Tagalakis, active duty and retired Army officers, family members of Lieutenant General Stylianos Kalbourtzis, and other guests.
