On Tuesday, 12 March 2024, a ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS” at Camp “SAKETA B” in Kareas for the signing of an MoU between the 95th Higher National Guard Battalions Command “DIAGORIDON” and the “Vasilios G. Melas Foundation for Preschool Education” for funding the construction of a new Child Care Centre building at Camp “KATEHAKI” on Rhodes island.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of National Defence, Mr. Ioannis Kefalogiannis, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, Honorary Chief Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, General Charalampos Lalousis (ret.), the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands “AEGEAS”, Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou, the President of the Foundation’s Management Committee, Mr. Georgios Melas, and the Foundation’s Legal Advisor, Mr. Georgios Kanakis.
