On Thursday 22 June 2023, the Field Training Exercise “The Group of Mechanised Infantry Company in River’s Crossing of Opportunity” was conducted at the Floating Assets Training Centre of the Evros Prefecture, with the participation of personnel and assets from the 31 Mechanised Brigade “ΚΑΜΙΑ”, the XXIV Armour Brigade “1st CAVALRY REGIMENT-FLORINA”, the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “KILKIS-LACHANA”, the 730 Bridging Engineer Battalion and the 744 Bridging Engineer Company.

The goal of the exercise was the personnel’s realistic training on subjects of track-laying and wheeled assets course, as well as the technique of water obstacle crossing. Furthermore, for the first time, a double joining of obstacles with the simultaneous deployment of two floating bridges was conducted.

The Commander of the D΄ Army Corps “THRACE” Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos observed the exercise’s final stage and ascertained the operational readiness and the high level of morale of the trained personnel.
