From 13 to 15 July 2026, the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean “AEGEUS” Lieutenant General Dimitrios Vakentis, visited the Supreme Military Command of the Aegean and Eastern Mediterranean Area of Responsibility.
Specifically, on Monday 13 July 2026, the Chief visited the Headquarters of the 95th Higher National Guard Battalions Command “DIAGORIDON” in Rhodes, where he was briefed on the formation’s mission, its operational and training activities, and gave the personnel directives. Subsequently, he went to Army Camps “CAPTAIN (INF) NIKOLAOS MPELOUMPASIS”, “COLONEL (INF) GEORGIOS PINAKIS” and “CAPTAIN KARATHANASIS”, as well as the headquarters of the V-BAT echelon at “MARITSES” airport, where he toured the grounds.
On Wednesday 15 July, the Chief visited the Headquarters of the 80th Higher National Guard Battalions Command, “KOS”, where he was briefed on the formation’s mission, and the Army Camps “GENERAL MAKRYGIANNIS IOANNIS”, “LIEUTENANT CHATZYEVANGELOU EVANGELOS”, and “CONSTANTINE XI PALAEOLOGUS”, where he toured the grounds and gave the personnel directives.
Subsequently, the Chief visited the islet of Pserimos, where he visited the Surveillance Outpost “PSERIMOS”.
Finally, the Chief went to the neighbouring island of Nisyros, where he visited the HQ of the Nisyros Island Defence Command at Army Camp “NISYROS VOLUNTEER WARRIORS”, and toured its grounds.
