On Friday, 31 August 2018, within the framework of the Army’s “We Are Proud” action, the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, recognised Armour Lieutenant Colonel Theodoros Salimkas, a powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting athlete. He has competed in many events, representing our country both in Greece and abroad, earning the following distinctions:

– 15 times North Greece Champion.

– 12 times National Champion.

– 6 times Balkan winner (3 times 2nd place and 3 times 3rd place).

– 4 times in the top ten of the European Championship.

– 2 times in the top twelve of the World Championship.

Furthermore, he has also competed in Olympic weightlifting, in the 105+ weight class, winning 1st place 3 times and becoming National Champion in the Military Games.

The ceremony was attended by the Officer’s mother.

With these successes, our colleague proved in the best possible way that tireless effort, ethos, and fighting spirit pay off, thus being a role model for all personnel, promoting the Army, the Armed Forces, and our country in general.
