In the context of the training of the members of the National Guard, on Saturday 06 May 2023 and Saturday 13 May 2023, Field Training Exercises were conducted at C and D Army Corps. In particular:
• The “ERKIOS ZEUS – 23” was conducted at the “Abelona” Exercise Field with the participation of detachments and assets from the 29th Motorised Infantry Brigade “Pogradets”, the 1st Army Aviation Brigade “Kilkis-Lachana” and members of the National Guard Battalions of Echinos, Komotini, Nestos, Xanthi, Rodopi and Sapes, while subjects of asymmetric threats’ countering within inhabited areas were examined.
The exercise was observed by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Chardalias, the Commander of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “Achilleas” Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos, the Commander of D Army Corps “Thrace” Lieutenant General Dimokritos Konstantakos, active and retired Officers, as well as relatives of the National Guard members.
• The “LYSIMACHOS – 23” exercise was conducted at the Lefkogia Dam with the participation of detachments and assets from the 10th Infantry Regiment and members of the National Guard Battalions of Drama, Kavala and Sidirokastro, while subjects of asymmetric threats’ countering were examined.
The exercise was observed by the Deputy Minister of National Defence Mr Nikolaos Chardalias, the Commander of the 1st Army/EU-OHQ “Achilleas” Lieutenant General Ioannis Tsioplos, the Commander of C Army Corps “Megas Alexandros” Lieutenant General Paris Kapravelos, active and retired Officers, as well as relatives of the National Guard members.
