On Monday, 22 July 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Georgios Kambas, visited the I Infantry Division “SMYRNI” and the 1st Raider – Parachutist Brigade “EL ALAMEIN”.
During his visit to the headquarters of the I Infantry Division, the Chief was briefed on its activities, provided guidelines, and praised the personnel for the Formation’s multifaceted work at both operational and social contribution level.
The Chief then visited the 1st Raider – Parachutist Brigade “EL ALAMEIN”, where he provided guidelines to the Brigade Command, staff, and personnel. Addressing the personnel, he stressed the importance of Special Forces and their contribution to the achievement of the
Special Forces’ purpose, which is two-fold: “operational effectiveness” and “social contribution”.
