From 18 to 20 August 2026, the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis visited the Area of Responsibility of the 5th Airmobile Brigade “V CRETAN DIVISION” and the 44th Military Command “TALOS”.

In particular, on Tuesday 18 August 2026, the Chief visited Camp “THEODORAKI” in Rethymno, accompanied by the Commanding General of the 5th Airmobile Brigade, Brigadier General Nikolaos Kostakis, and was given a tour of its facilities. Afterwards, he visited the Headquarters of the 5th Airmobile Brigade in Camp “STEFANAKI” in Chania, where he was briefed on the mission and operational and training activities of the Formation. He then visited the base of the 1st Raider Battalion in Camp “APOSTOLAKI” in Maleme and Camp “RAPTOPOULOU” in Aghia, Chania.

On Wednesday 19 August 2026, the Chief visited the headquarters of the 44th Military Command in Camp “DASKALOGIANNI” in Heraklion, where he was welcomed by the Commanding General of the 44th Military Command, Brigadier General Fotios Arbis, and was briefed on the mission and operational and training activities of the Formation before visiting Camp “ANDROULAKI” in Tymbaki and being given a tour of its facilities.

Finally, on Thursday 20 August 2026, the Chief visited the islet of Gavdos and the “GAVDOS” Surveillance Outpost, where he waws briefed on its mission and given a tour of its facilities.
