From 28 to 30 April 2026, the Chief HAGS, Lieutenant General Georgios Kostidis, paid a formal visit to France, where he met with the Chief of the French Army, General Pierre Schill.

On Wednesday 29 April 2026, in the framework of Field Exercise “ORION-26”, the Chief HAGS, accompanied by the Commanding General of the Supreme Military Command of Thrace “THRAKI”, Lieutenant General Panagiotis Kavidopoulos, visited the Headquarters of the French 1st Division, where they were received by its Commanding General, Major General Bruno Helluy, and were given a tour of the French 7th Armoured Brigade.

Following, in the framework of the observation of Field Exercise “ORION-26”, the Chief HAGS addressed the personnel of the XXV Armour Brigade “2nd Cavalry Regiment – Efesos”, verifying the high level of bilateral operational cooperation, as well as the enhancement of the bonds between the training sections of the two countries.

Finally, the Chief visited the Headquarters of the French Army General Staff, where he had a bilateral meeting with the Chief of the French Army, General Pierre Schill. During the meeting, which was held in an excellent atmosphere, current events were discussed, agreed upon activities were evaluated, and ideas for cooperation in new areas were exchanged.
