Lt. General Andreas KORONAKIS
Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis was born in 1964 in Athens. In 1983, he was admitted to the Hellenic Army Academy from which he graduated in 1987 to be commissioned as Engineers Second Lieutenant.
As a junior Officer, he served in Engineers Units as Platoon Leader and Company Commander.
He attended all Engineers Corps schools and graduated from the Engineers Officers Technical Training School.
He graduated from the Hellenic Supreme Joint War College in 2007.
Over his career as a senior officer, he served as Engineers Commander of the II Mechanized Infantry Division and of B΄ Army Corps, as well as Director of the 736 Military Works Division and Commander of the Engineers Corps Training Center.
Once promoted to Colonel in 2012, he attended the Hellenic National Defence College, and subsequently assumed the duties of Engineers Commander of the Supreme Military Command of Interior and Islands.
In 2017, he was promoted to Brigadier General and was assigned as Director General to the Autonomous Officers’ Building Organization (AOBO).
He was promoted to Major General in 2020, whereas in 2021 he assumed the duties of C Branch Director of HAGS.
On 17 January 2023, upon a relevant decision of the Governmental Council on Foreign Policy and National Defence, he assumed the duties of Deputy Chief of HAGS.
Lieutenant General Andreas Koronakis has been awarded all decorations, commendations, and medals as such are provided for by his rank.
He is married and has two children:
