On Friday, 01 June 2018, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the Engineer School in Loutraki, Corinthia.
In his address to the 2nd Lieutenants, Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) Class of 2017, of the Engineer School Basic Training Course, the Chief stressed the following:
– The importance of practical training before the implementation of any operational plan.
– The need for self-improvement at all levels.
– The need to adopt an innovative way of thinking in the Army in order to deal with everyday problems.
After his address, the Chief visited the School’s training facilities, where he was given a demonstration of the modern, digital assets where the Engineers put modern training into action.
These include:
– The interactive sand table, a model virtual reality application that allows the trainees to create 3D topographical models.
– The new tactical situations simulation system.
Finally, the Chief congratulated the personnel of the Engineer School for their high morale, professionalism, and high sense of duty. We all wish the new 2nd Lieutenants who just completed their training a successful career.
