Visit of the Chief of HAGS to the Area of Responsibility of the ΧΧIV Armour Brigade

On Wednesday 11 July 2018, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis conducted a visit to the Area of Responsibility of the XXIV Armour Brigade (ΧΧIV Armour Brigade – “1st CAVALRY REGIMENT – FLORINA”).
He initially visited the “ΚΑΝΑPΙΤSΑ” exercise field in Litochoro, where the Hellenic Military Academy (Evelpidon) conducts its summer training. The Chief was given a tour of the facilities and gave a speech to the training Cadets.
He then went to “2nd LIEUTENANT (INF) BALANIKAS NIKOLAOS” Camp, where he visited:
– The 592 Motorised Infantry Battalion – Conscripts Reception Centre, where he observed the enlistment procedure of the newly recruited Soldiers of the 2018 D΄ Training Series and talked with them.
– The 137 Automotive Squadron of Medium Artillery, where a demonstration of the Unit’s communication and fire assets was conducted.
The Cadets’ and all the Army Members’ excellent morale was ascertained along with the faultless operation of the enlistment process of the newly recruited soldiers. Furthermore, it was once more concluded, that the personnel’s level of professionalism is high, they demonstrate particular zeal and they have an incomparable interest for the execution of their duties.
