On Thursday, 24 January 2019, the Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, visited the 2nd Raider Battalion in Naousa, Imathia.
During his visit, the Chief was briefed on the Battalion’s current activities, was given a tour of its facilities and premises, and attended training activities, including “Urban Warfare Operations” training and a “Countering Asymmetric Threats” Field Exercise.
In his address to the personnel, he pointed out the importance of having an open mind in training, as well as the passion, interest, selflessness, love, and hard work, which are the ingredients for professional success.
Finally, the Chief congratulated the Battalion’s Officers and Raiders for their high morale, pride, and great effort during their hard and demanding training.
The Chief was accompanied by the Commanding General of the I Infantry Division, Major General Petros Demestihas, and the Commanding General of the 1st Raider – Parachutist Brigade, Brigadier General Dimitrios Vounisios.
