On Friday, October 19th 2018, the Chief of the Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, attended the oath taking ceremony of new Career NCO School Students, class 2021 “Major Sergeant (INF) Dimitrios Itsios” that was held at the School’s headquarters in Trikala.
The Chief at his address amongst other things:
– Congratulated the New Career NCO Students for their choice to enlist in the School. He encouraged them to be full of optimism, smile and patience, in order to overcome all difficulties, either official or personal, on a daily basis;
– He stressed that they have chosen a nice but demanding road, to serve a high office – that of the Greek military officer, fact that should fill them with pride and honor;
– He encouraged them, during their attendance at the School, to pursue their constant learning and self-improvement, to cultivate and develop their critical understanding, creative thinking and disciplined initiative, benefiting from the Academic and Military training offered by the School;
– He encouraged them to work with passion, to think in a creative and original way, using their inspiration and imagination, impressing both themselves and their instructors;
– He highlighted the need for them to become communicants of creativity and innovation, towards a new way of thinking promoting experimentation, unimpeded communication and constant exchange of knowledge and expertise;
– Finally, he wished them luck with the completion of their studies and every success in their career in the field of the Armed Forces.
Totally 167 students took the oath, out of which 14 originating from Cyprus.
The ceremony was attended by civilian, local and religious authorities, as well as representatives from the Armed Forces and Security Corps and relatives and friends of the new students.
