Under the auspices of the Hellenic Army General Staff and within the framework of NATO, the following events took place in Loutraki, Corinthia, for the first time in Greece:
– On Tuesday, 23 October, the 22nd Meeting of the MILENG CoE Steering Committee (SC).
– On 24 and 25 October 2018, the NATO Senior Joint Engineers Conference 2018 (NSJEC 2018).
The NATO MILENG CoE Steering Committee is the centre’s management and coordination instrument and consists of the National Representatives of the 17 nations comprising it. It meets twice every year and its purpose is to provide guidance and oversight on all matters concerning its organisation and operations.
The Committee meeting agenda included the approval of financial statements and program of work, the approval of the budget and the update of the centre’s medium term financial plan.
The NATO Senior Joint Engineers Conference is the main instrument directing the MILENG policy and doctrine of the Alliance. It takes place once every year and its aim is the development of all MILENG capabilities. It was attended by the NATO Partner National Senior (Joint) Engineers and representatives of the Alliance.
Its agenda included setting the goals and the vision of NATO MILENG and examining the MILENG operational work of Allied HQs.
The organisation of the above meeting and conference was a complete success, received very positive comments by the participants, and promoted the Hellenic Army and the Hellenic Armed Forces at regional and international level.
