On Wednesday, 13 June 2018, Chief of Hellenic Army General Staff, Lieutenant General Alkiviadis Stefanis, attended a Field Training Exercise (FTX “DIMOKRITOS”), conducted by Second Lieutenants of Arms and Corps, at the wider area of Xanthi. It is the first time that the exercise scenario includes the model development of an Armoured Brigade Logistics Area.
The Chief had the opportunity to observe the training of the Second Lieutenants participating in the exercise in the following fields:
Management of casualties at Triage Stations and Mobile Field Surgical Hospital, mobilized for this purpose.
Development of a Resupply Station, a Medical Triage Point, a Joint Supply Point and a Field Baking platoon.
A demonstration of Heavy Technical Equipment recovery was also conducted, which among other things included lifting and towing of LEO2A4 tanks, lifting of an M113 Armoured Personnel Carrier, setting of an overturned M60A1 tank and on site repair by Mobile Repair Teams.
